Wash your hands first before inserting the cup. You can try either of the two most common folds - the C-fold and the Punch Down fold. Click here to know more. You can either squat, sit or put one leg up on the commode to insert the cup comfortably.
Every body is different and hence the most comfortable and effective fold and position differs. However, the most common fold is the Punch Down fold and the most common position is the squatting pose.
If you just woke up or if you were sitting for too long then i would recommend you to move around the house or wherever you are for 10 min so that cup slides down a little. Once that is done -Try squatting down and push the cup from your pelvic muscle (how you would deliver a baby). Once you do that you will be able to feel the tip of the stem DONT PULL IT FROM THE STEM. Pinch the base of the cup and then pull it out.
